Eyelets of Danger

I'm making Eunny Jang's Print O' the Wave Stole. This is my first real experience with lace and it's going quite well. I'm using Paton's Grace (mercerized cotton) on needle size "somewhere between 7 and 9, b/c that is what is missing from my Denise case and I'm too lazy to actually go look at them.)

I've also decided to make it shorter, b/c it would make a nice baby blanket for a friend. It's her first baby and I think she would like something a little different (and is really into the pink.) Now here is the problem with working in the ED... A coworker also thinks it's beautiful, but also remembers many an infant who nearly or completely lost a toe to loopy strings on clothing and accesories.

So I'm kind of worried that my YO's might amputate a toe or two.... Maybe I'll keep it for my own future child, so I can supervise the Eyelets of Danger.
